Short description: 
WRK COMP-ELECTION TO WITHDRAW                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Workers'  Compensation  Act.   Provides   that   the      
   corporate officers of a domestic or foreign corporation (rather than a      
   small  business)  who  are  employed  by  the corporation may elect to      
   withdraw as individuals from the operation of the Act.  Provides  that      
   the  Act does not apply to a member of a limited liability company who      
   elects not to provide and pay for  his  or  her  accidental  injuries.      
   Provides  that  a  sole proprietor or partner or a member of a limited      
   liability company who elects not  to  provide  and  pay  for  workers'      
   compensation  coverage for himself or herself shall file a waiver with      
   the Industrial Commission. Effective immediately.                           
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Provides that the waiver requirement applies if the  election  is      
   made under the subdivision authorizing the election.                        
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                 
        Deletes language providing that a sole proprietor or partner or a      
   member of a limited liability company who elects not  to  provide  and      
   pay  for  workers'  compensation coverage for himself or herself shall      
   file a waiver with the Industrial Commission.
