Senate Sponsors: BOMKE. Short description: PATIENT RIGHTS-PHARMACY BILLS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Health Finance Reform Act. Provides that the Health Care Cost Containment Council shall be responsible for prescribing by rule the standards for a bill from a long-term care facility as the bill relates to pharmaceuticals dispensed to a resident. Provides that the rules, at a minimum, shall require that a long-term care facility itemize in the billing statement to a resident the cost, per dosage, of any pharmaceutical product dispensed to the resident. Amends the Medical Patient Rights Act. Provides that a resident of a long-term care facility has a right to receive, in his or her monthly billing statement, an itemized list of the cost, per dosage, of any pharmaceutical product dispensed to the resident.
