Short description: VEH CD-USE HANDS-FREE PHONE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that while operating a vehicle, other than a law enforcement vehicle, a driver may use only a telephone equipped with an apparatus that allows the driver to talk and listen without holding the telephone or its handset or receiver. Provides that violation is a petty offense punishable by a $100 fine. Provides that a violation resulting in an accident involving injury or property damage is a petty offense punishable by a $250 fine.
