House Sponsors: SMITH,MICHAEL. Short description: CD CORR-DUI-RESTITUTN-AGENCY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. In provisions concerning dispositions for persons convicted of an offense, provides that moneys paid to a public agency as restitution for the costs of an emergency response in connection with a DUI offense shall be used to purchase law enforcement equipment that will assist in the prevention of alcohol-related criminal violence throughout the State. Provides that such equipment shall include, but is not limited to, in-car video cameras, radar and laser speed detection devices, and alcohol breath testers.
