Short description: 
TOBACCO-BAN BIDI CIGARETTES                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Tobacco Accessories and  Smoking  Herbs  Control  Act.      
   Prohibits the sale of "bidi cigarettes", which contain tobacco that is      
   wrapped  in  temburni  or tendu leaf or a similar substance and do not      
   contain a smoke filtering device.  Makes a violation a  petty  offense      
   punishable  by a fine of not less than $100 and not more than $500 for      
   a first offense, up to a fine of not less than $500 and not more  than      
   $1,000 for a third or subsequent offense.                                   
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        In the definition of "bidi cigarette", deletes the provision that      
   such a cigarette does not contain a smoke filtering device.
