House Sponsors: ZICKUS. Short description: PEN CD-MWRD-U OF I SERVICE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Article of the Pension Code. Authorizes an employee with at least 8 years of service to establish service credit for up to 3 years of employment with the University of Illinois during which he or she was eligible to, but did not, participate in the State Universities Retirement System. Requires payment of employee and employer contributions, plus interest. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) The fiscal impact of HB 4133 cannot be determined, but is estimated to be minor, as the service credit amount that would be established is estimated to be small. In addition, The Board of Trustees of the fund is allowed to determine the required contributions.
