Short description: PEN CD-IMRF-COUNTY OFFICERS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Article of the Illinois Pension Code. In the provisions setting forth an optional plan of additional benefits and contributions for elected county officers and their survivors, changes the definition of the terms "elected county officer" and "elected county office" to allow participation by an assessor whose office is not elective. Provides that an amendment to the program that takes effect after the county board of a county has given its consent to the program does not apply to the elected county officers of that county unless the county board thereafter files with the Board of the Fund a resolution or ordinance expressly consenting to the application of the amendment. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) The fiscal impact of HB 4078 cannot be determined. For counties that elect to offer the optional plan or elect to accept addi- tional elected officials, there would be a fiscal impact, as the required contributions pay only a portion of the optional benefits.
