Senate Sponsors: MOLARO-O'MALLEY Short description: CD CORR-RESTITUTION-PMNT PRTY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Unified Code of Corrections in relation to restitution. Provides that amounts collected by the clerk of the court, whether in lump sum or installments, shall first be used to satisfy the order of restitution before any other disbursements. Effective immediately. FISCAL NOTE (Administrative Office of the Ill. Courts) There would be some delay in the receipt of court fees; how- ever, a dollar estimate of the cost cannot be provided. JUDICIAL NOTE (Administrative Office of Ill. Courts) The bill would neither decrease or increase the number of judges needed in the State. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that before the restitution and other payments are satisfied, court costs must first be recovered by the circuit clerk.
