Senate Sponsors: SYVERSON-HALVORSON Short description: IDPA-STATE DISBURSEMENT UNIT Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the "child support enforcement" Article of the Illinois Public Aid Code. Requires the Department of Public Aid to establish a State Disbursement Unit for the collection and disbursement of support payments in accordance with federal law (rather than establish it by October 1, 1999). Requires the Department to enter into an agreement with a private entity (rather than with a State or local governmental unit or a private entity) to perform the Unit's functions. Establishes certain requirements for the agreement. Requires the Department to terminate any prior agreement for the operation of a State Disbursement Unit. Effective immediately or on the effective date of House Bill 2773 of the 91st General Assembly, whichever is later. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Requires the Department of Public Aid to enter into an agreement with an entity (instead of a private entity) to perform the State Disbursement Unit's functions.
