Short description: 
VEH CD-INSURANCE COVERAGE-DUI                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code.   Provides  that  a  person      
   convicted of driving while under the influence  of  alcohol  or  drugs      
   must  carry insurance, for 5 years after the conviction, that provides      
   the following minimum  coverage:  (i)  $40,000  for  a  motor  vehicle      
   accident  resulting  in  the  bodily injury to or death of one person,      
   (ii) $80,000 for a motor vehicle  accident  resulting  in  the  bodily      
   injury to or death of 2 or more persons, and (iii) $30,000 for a motor      
   vehicle  accident resulting in injury to or destruction of property of      
   others (this  coverage  is  double  the  current  amount  of  coverage      
   required).
