Short description: 
INS ADOPT-GENETIC-NEW COVERAGE                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Insurance Code.  Removes  provision  allowing      
   insurers  to  exclude  blindness  existing  at the time the policy was      
   issued from coverage.  Limits the use of genetic  information  in  the      
   absence  of a diagnosis related to that genetic information.  Provides      
   that group accident and health insurance is the type  that  covers  2,      
   rather than 10, employees or members.  Provides that replacement group      
   health  insurance  policies  shall  cover all employees and dependents      
   covered  under  the  coverage  being  replaced.   Amends  the   Health      
   Maintenance  Organization  Act  and  the  Illinois Insurance Code with      
   respect to coverage of adopted children.  Effective immediately.            
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          215 ILCS 5/245                  from Ch. 73, par. 857                
        Amends the Illinois Insurance Code.  Provides that domestic  life      
   insurance  companies  may  pay salaries of up to $200,000, rather than      
   $100,000, per year without a vote by the board of directors.
