Provides that in counties of 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, a change in all assessments in a particular class of property may be made with notice by publication. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the amendatory provisions apply beginning with the 1999 assessment year. Adds an immediate effective date. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 2. Provides that the publication notice of the revision shall be printed in a newspaper of general circulation in the township or township assessment district (instead of area).
