Short description: PEN CD-IMRF-EDUC HEALTH INSUR Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund Article of the Pension Code to provide a program of group health insurance for retired employees of participating educational employers and their spouses. Requires both active educational employees and their employers to contribute 0.5% of earnings toward the costs of the program. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) HB 2213 would not increase the accrued liability of any IMRF employer. The bill would increase the contribution rates of IMRF educational employers by 0.5% of payroll, and employee contributions would also increase by 0.5% of salary.
