PUB AID-ELIGIBLE NON-CITIZENS                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Public  Aid  Code.   Adds  to  those  persons      
   eligible  for assistance under the Code: certain American Indians born      
   in Canada and members of a certain Indian tribe, certain Nationals  of      
   Cuba  or Haiti, certain Amerasians from Vietnam and their close family      
   members, certain members of a Hmong or  Highland  Laotian  tribe,  and      
   certain victims of domestic abuse who were the spouse, widow, or child      
   of a United States citizen, are or were the spouse or child of a legal      
   permanent  resident, are a member of that relative's family that lived      
   with them, or are the children or  parents of these  persons  if  they      
   did  not participate in the abuse.  Removes the provision that repeals      
   provisions regarding services to  non-citizens  on  August  31,  1999.      
   Effective immediately.
