CPA-OUT-OF-STATE                                                           

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Public Accounting  Act.  Provides  additional      
   methods   for   obtaining   certification,  licensure,  and  temporary      
   licensure   for   out-of-state   accountants.   Provides    additional      
   requirements  to  be  met  by  firms licensed under the Act. Effective      
   immediately.                                                                
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Further amends the Illinois Public Accounting Act.  Makes changes      
   concerning practice as a public accountant by  a  person  who  is  not      
   licensed  under  the Act.  Replaces provisions concerning licensure by      
   reciprocity with provisions  permitting  the  Department  to  issue  a      
   license  as  a  public  accountant  to  an applicant who holds a valid      
   license or permit to practice as a public accountant issued under  the      
   laws  of  any  other  state  or  territory of the United States or the      
   District of Columbia if certain conditions are met.
