Provides a mechanism for employer pickup of optional employee contributions to a retirement system other than the one in which the employee is actively participating. Applies only to retirement systems that (i) are authorized by statute to allow pickup of optional employee contributions within the system and (ii) adopt a rule providing for participation. Requires a compliance ruling from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) HB2165 would not increase accrued liabilities of any public retirement system or pension fund in the State.
