Short description: 
CIV PRO-MORTGAGE-REDEMPTION                                                

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Code of  Civil  Procedure.   Provides  that  for  real      
   estate  (rather  than  for  residential  real  estate), the redemption      
   period shall end on the date one month from the date  of  entry  of  a      
   judgment  of  foreclosure  (rather  than  the  later of (i) the date 7      
   months from the date the mortgagor has been served with summons or  by      
   publication  or  has  otherwise  submitted  to the jurisdiction of the      
   court or (ii) the date 3 months from the date of entry of  a  judgment      
   of  foreclosure).  Deletes provisions concerning the redemption period      
   for real estate other than residential real estate.                         
          HOUSING AFFORDABILITY NOTE (Housing Development Authority)           
          This bill will have no fiscal effect on the cost of construct-       
          ing, purchasing, owning or selling a single-family residence.        
          STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs)        
          Does not create a State mandate.                                     
          HOME RULE NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs)             
          Does not preempt home rule authority.                                
          JUDICIAL NOTE (Administrative Office of Ill. Courts)                 
          The bill would neither decrease nor increase the number of           
          judges needed in the State.                                          
          FISCAL NOTE (Office of Banks and Real Estate)                        
          Creates no fiscal impact.                                            
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Deletes all amendatory changes.  Makes a stylistic change.
