Includes, in the offense of aggravated battery with a firearm (punishable as a Class X felony), causing injury to an officer or employee of a school: while the officer or employee is engaged in the execution of any of his or her official duties; to prevent the officer or employee from per- forming his or her official duties; in retaliation for the officer or employee performing his or her official duties; or while the officer or employee is in any school, on the real property comprising any school, in any conveyance owned, leased, or contracted by a school to transport students to or from school or a school related activity, or on any public way within 1,000 feet of the real property comprising any school.
