Short description: 
FIRE PROTECT DIST-PROP TAX                                                 

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Fire Protection District Act.   Requires  an  annexing      
   municipality  to  pay  certain  real  estate  tax  moneys  to  a  fire      
   protection  district from which territory is disconnected by operation      
   of law.                                                                     
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Deletes the provision concerning the payment of real  estate  tax      
   moneys   to  a  fire  protection  district  from  which  territory  is      
   disconnected.  Provides that an annexing municipality  must  pay  real      
   estate tax moneys to the fire protection district from which territory      
   is  annexed for a period of 5 years.  Provides that the amount of real      
   estate tax moneys paid to the fire protection  district  shall  be  an      
   amount  equal to a certain percentage of the real estate tax collected      
   on the property in the disconnected territory by the  fire  protection      
   district  in  the tax year immediately preceding the year in which the      
   disconnection took effect. Provides that the moneys shall be paid on a      
   sliding scale.
