CRIM CD-FSTR PARENT-ABUSE-TECH                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Creates the offense  of  abuse      
   or neglect of a child by a foster parent (Section heading only).            
          FISCAL NOTE, H-AM 1 (Department of Corrections)                      
          There will be no fiscal and population impact.                       
          CORRECTIONAL NOTE, H-AM 1 (Department of Corrections)                
          Same as DOC fiscal note.                                             
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          720 ILCS 5/12-35 new                                                 
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          720 ILCS 5/12-4.3               from Ch. 38, par. 12-4.3             
        Deletes the title  and  everything  after  the  enacting  clause.      
   Amends the Criminal Code of 1961 relating to the offense of aggravated      
   battery  of a child.  Changes the age of the child from under 13 years      
   of age to under 18 years of age.  Provides that aggravated battery  of      
   a  child  in  which  the  offender  has care of the child is a Class X      
   felony with a minimum sentence of 10 years for a first offense  and  a      
   minimum sentence of 20 years for a second or subsequent offense.
