Short description: 
CRIM CD-IMPERSONATING SHERIFF                                              

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides that a person may not      
   use the words "Cook County Sheriff's Police" or "Cook County  Sheriff"      
   in  the  title  of  any  organization,  magazine, or other publication      
   without the express approval of the office of the Cook County Sheriff.      
   Effective immediately.                                                      
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Provides that a person who wishes to use the words  "Cook  County      
   Sheriff's  Police"  or "Cook County Sheriff" in publications must have      
   the approval of the Cook County Sheriff's Merit Board  (now  the  bill      
   requires the approval of the Cook County Sheriff).
