House Sponsors: PARKE. Short description: PARK DIST CD-TAX-INCREASE RATE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Park District Code. Provides that if a park district is located in a county that is subject to the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law, it may levy general taxes at a rate not to exceed .20% (now .10%) of the value of taxable property in the district. Provides that if a park district is located in a county subject to the Property Tax Extension Limitation Law, the district may levy a recreation tax at a rate not to exceed .120% (now .075%) of the value of taxable property in the district without holding a referendum. Effective immediately.
