House Sponsors: SKINNER. Short description: SCHOOL BONDS-INSURANCE TAX Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the General Obligation Bond Act and the Illinois Insurance Code. Authorizes the issuance of $120,000,000 of bonds each fiscal year beginning in fiscal year 2000 for grants to school districts for projects authorized under the School Construction Law. Provides that the proceeds from the annual privilege tax on insurance companies shall be used to pay the principal and interest on the bonds. Effective July 1, 1999.
