Senate Sponsors: BURZYNSKI Short description: CRIM CD-SEDUCING MINOR Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Criminal Code of 1961. Provides that it is a Class A misdemeanor for a first offense and a Class 4 felony for a second or subsequent offense for a person to send to a minor, by telephone, e-mail, the Internet, or an online service, a message that is harmful material, with the intent of arousing, appealing to, or gratifying the lust or passions or sexual desires of the person or of the minor with the intent of seducing a minor. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Changes the penalty for the new offense of seduction of a minor from a Class A misdemeanor for a first offense to a Class 4 felony. Changes the penalty for a second or subsequent offense from a Class 4 felony to a Class 3 felony.
