ENDOCRINOLOGY SERVICE-AVAILABL                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Insurance Code to provide that individual and      
   group policies and managed care plans that require the designation  of      
   a  primary  care  provider  shall  allow  an  insured  to designate an      
   endocrinology care provider to which the  insured  shall  have  access      
   without  the requirement of a referral.  Amends the Health Maintenance      
   Organization Act and  the  Voluntary  Health  Services  Plans  Act  to      
   require endocrinology provider access under those Acts.                     
          FISCAL NOTE (Dept. of Insurance)                                     
          HB212 will have no fiscal impact on the Department.                  
          STATE MANDATES NOTE (Dept. of Commerce and Community Affairs)        
          HB212 creates a personnel mandate requiring 100% reimbursement       
          by the State; a statewide cost estimate is not available.
