Senate Sponsors: MYERS,J Short description: VEH CD-TRNSPRT STUDENTS-TRUCKS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that students may be transported in a truck if the transportation is for an agrarian-- related school activity (currently, students engaged in such activities must be transported in a school bus). Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code to provide that students transported in second division vehicles for agrarian-related school activities must be authorized by the school board and supervised by the school district. Provides that a school board that authorizes a second division vehicle to transport students enrolled in grade 12 or below for an agrarian-related school activity shall accept liability for any injury or damage resulting from the transportation of the students.
