SULLIVAN. 220 ILCS 5/16-125B new Amends the Public Utilities Act. Authorizes municipalities to establish by ordinance local energy emergency plans to be implemented when the demand for electricity exceeds or is at a significant risk of exceeding the available supply of electricity. Provides that the municipality enacting a local energy emergency plan must serve a copy of the ordinance upon each electric utility operating within the municipality. Provides that an electric utility may be required to submit its emergency energy plans to the municipality.
