MAITLAND. 40 ILCS 5/18-123 from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 18-123 Amends the Judges Article of the Pension Code. Allows the surviving spouse of a deceased judge who died in service in 1959 with at least 8 years of creditable service to elect to become eligible for a survivor's annuity by reinstating the deceased judge's service credits and establishing additional service credits on his behalf. Provides that the survivor's annuity is retroactive to the date of death in 1959 and is to be calculated based on the current formula rather than the law in effect on the date of death. Effective immediately.
