RAUSCHENBERGER.

   New Act                                                                     
   30 ILCS 105/5.490 new                                                       

        Creates the  Medical Fraud Enforcement Act.  Provides that  fines      
   imposed  for  medical  fraud shall be deposited into the Medical Fraud      
   Enforcement Fund, a special fund in the State treasury,  and  used  by      
   the  Attorney  General  to  combat  medical  fraud. Provides fines for      
   medical fraud shall be an amount equal to at least 2 times the  amount      
   of  the  fraud.  Requires  persons  who  commit  medical fraud to make      
   restitution.   Provides  for  the  imposition  of  a   medical   fraud      
   assessment  of  not less than 75% of the fine imposed. Grants immunity      
   to persons who  report  medical  fraud.  Requires  the  Department  of      
   Professional Regulation to disclose the identity of persons who commit      
   medical fraud. Amends the State Finance Act to create the Medical           
   Fraud Enforcement Fund.
