PARKER-BERMAN, DEMUZIO, LIGHTFORD, DONAHUE AND NOLAND.

(SCHOENBERG-GARRETT-GASH-ERWIN-HOWARD)

   20 ILCS 3405/16           from Ch. 127, par. 2716                           

        Amends the Historic Preservation Agency Act.  Provides  that  the      
   Agency may make Illinois Heritage Grants for the purposes of planning,      
   survey,  rehabilitation, restoration, reconstruction, landscaping, and      
   acquisition of Illinois properties (i) designated individually on  the      
   National  Register  of  Historic Places, (ii) designated as a landmark      
   under a county or  municipal  landmark  ordinance,  or  (iii)  located      
   within  certain  historic  districts  when  the  Director  of Historic      
   Preservation determines the  property  is  of  historic  significance.      
   Provides  that  the  Agency  may require grantees to provide  matching      
   funds for each grant.  Provides that each owner of a historic property      
   is elegible to apply for a grant.
