   5 ILCS 315/1              from Ch. 48, par. 1601                            

        Amends  the  Illinois  Public  Labor  Relations  Act.   Makes   a      
   technical change in a Section concerning the short title.                   
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2. (Tabled January 9, 2001)                       
          Deletes reference to:                                                
          5 ILCS 315/1                    from Ch. 48, par. 1601               
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          5 ILCS 315/15                   from Ch. 48, par. 1615               
          730 ILCS 5/3-7-2.5 new                                               
        Deletes everything.  Amends the Illinois Public  Labor  Relations      
   Act  and  the Unified Code of Corrections.  Provides that at least 20%      
   of all employees and administrative  officers  of  the  Department  of      
   Corrections  shall  be  randomly tested for the presence of drugs once      
   per year.  Provides for the discharge from employment of  an  employee      
   or officer who refuses to take the drug test or who tests positive for      
   drugs.   Prohibits the rehiring of an officer or employee who fails to      
   take the drug test or who tests positive.  Effective July 1, 2001.
