Changes when a school board may amend a certificate of tax levy to when a change in the assessed valuation resulting from application of the equalization multiplier causes the school district's tax extensions to be less than the maximum permissive tax rate allowed by law or the maximum tax rate allowed by voter approved referendum (instead of when the change in the assessed valuation causes the school district's operating tax rate to be less than that required to qualify for the maximum amount of State aid). Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Adds reference to: 35 ILCS 200/18-72 new Amends the Truth in Taxation Law of the Property Tax Code to require a school board to give public notice of and hold a public hearing on its intent to amend the certificate of tax levy. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
