NOVAK. (WALSH,L) New Act Creates the Momence Dam Transfer Act. Provides that the Department of Transportation is authorized to acquire the existing Momence dam and all existing structures, easements, and other privileges pertaining to it by donation from the City of Momence and other owners. Provides that the Department has full rights of ownership in the dam and its appurtenances, including the right to demolish, reconstruct, or dispose of the property. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Provides that the Department of Natural Resources, rather than the Department of Transportation, is authorized to acquire the existing Momence dam and, once the dam is acquired, shall have full rights of ownership in it. SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
