   20 ILCS 605/46.70 new                                                       

        Amends the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that        
   the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs shall convene a task       
   force to develop a model  domestic  violence  employee  awareness  and      
   assistance  policy  to  provide  businesses  with  the  best  means to      
   ascertain  domestic  violence  awareness  in  the  workplace,   assist      
   affected employees, and provide a safe and helpful working environment      
   for employees experiencing the effects of domestic violence.  Provides      
   that  the  model  policy  shall  address  corporate  domestic violence      
   policies, dissemination  of  resource  information,  workplace  safety      
   issues,  and  workplace training programs with the final model policy,      
   if approved, presented to the Governor and the  General  Assembly  not      
   later than one year after the effective date of this amendatory Act of      
   1999.   Provides  for  technical  support  and  a  4-year  follow-up.
