DART AND O'BRIEN. 730 ILCS 5/3-2-10 new Amends the Unified Code of Corrections. Creates the Prison Oversight Commission consisting of 4 members of the General Assembly, one each appointed by the President of the Senate, the Minority Leader of the Senate, the Speaker of the House, and the Minority Leader of the House. Provides that the Commission appoint an Executive Director as its executive officer who serves at the pleasure of the Commission. Provides that the Executive Director may investigate, under procedures established by the Commission and subject to the ongoing approval of the Commission, an administrative act that is alleged to be contrary to law, contrary to Department policy, unaccompanied by an adequate statement or reason, or based on irrelevant, immaterial, or erroneous grounds.
