MURPHY. New Act Creates the Real Estate Agent Voter Registration Act. Provides that in counties with a population of 3,000,000 or more, a licensed real estate broker must (i) inform clients of their right to register to vote and (ii) provide the clients with a Federal Voter Registration Card or registration record card. Provides that the broker may request that the election authority appoint the broker as a deputy registrar. Provides that a violation of the Act is a petty offense. Sets fines for violations.
