   225 ILCS 415/23           from Ch. 111, par. 6223                           
   225 ILCS 415/26.1 new                                                       

        Amends the Illinois Certified Shorthand Reporters Act of 1984 to       
   subject persons regulated under the Act to disciplinary action for          
   willfully failing to systematically retain stenographic notes or            
   transcripts, including paper or electronic media, for a 5-year period.      
   Provides that it is the licensee's responsibility to retain the notes       
   or transcripts. Effective immediately.                                      
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Provides that failure to retain stenographic notes or transcripts      
   for 5 years from the end of litigation is grounds for discipline under      
   the Act.
