Provides that in Cook County, a person appointed to fill a vacancy in the office of resident judge must, at the time of the appointment, be a resident of the subcircuit to which the vacancy is assigned or a resident of the subcircuit from which the person whose vacancy is being filled was elected. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Deletes everything. Amends the Judicial Vacancies Act. Adds a caption to a Section concerning vacancies in the office of judge.
