MYERS,RICHARD.

   720 ILCS 5/31-5.5 new                                                       

        Amends  the  Criminal  Code  of  1961.   Requires  a  person  who      
   witnesses the offense of criminal sexual assault, aggravated  criminal      
   sexual assault, predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, criminal      
   sexual  abuse,  or  aggravated  criminal  sexual  abuse  to report the      
   offense to a local law enforcement agency or peace officer as soon  as      
   possible.   Reporting may include telephoning an emergency number such      
   as 9-1-1. Provides that it is an affirmative defense to this violation      
   if the witness' own life or physical safety is jeopardized. Penalty is      
   a Class A misdemeanor if the victim is at least 13 years of age and  a      
   Class 4 felony if the victim is under 13.
