JOHNSON,TOM. 105 ILCS 5/2-3.126 new Amends the School Code. Authorizes the State Board of Education, acting in conjunction and cooperation with all school boards and school districts in the State, to develop, administer, and implement a program under which all Illinois school districts become county-wide unit school districts, whose territory shall be determined by county boundaries, by July 1, 2004. Authorizes the State Board of Education to waive requirements otherwise applicable to the annexation of territory to or formation of a unit school district.
