LANG-LOPEZ. 20 ILCS 2605/55d new Amends the Department of State Police provisions of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois to create a Citizens Crime Commission to advise the General Assembly on crime legislation that shall consist of 10 members appointed by the Governor with 2 co-chairpersons to be designated by the Governor. The appointments shall be made by January 1, 2000, for 2 year terms, at the expiration of which the Commission is abolished. Provides for reimbursement for necessary expenses for members. This provision is repealed on January 1, 2002. Effective immediately.
