 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The  member  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of Joseph R. Nardone of Aurora, who passed away on October 6,
 5    2000; and

 6        WHEREAS, Joseph R. Nardone was born on June 18,  1917  in
 7    Tiltonsville, Ohio; and

 8        WHEREAS,  Joseph  R.  Nardone was a member of Holy Angels
 9    Church in Aurora and St. Bridget Church in  Hobart,  Indiana;
10    he was a 1939 graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where
11    he served as captain of the Notre Dame baseball team;  he was
12    employed  by Marmion Academy for forty-seven years as a coach
13    and instructor; he worked as an ironworker during the  summer
14    with the Local #393; he was also an avid gardener; and

15        WHEREAS,  The passing of Joseph R. Nardone will be deeply
16    felt by all who knew him, especially his devoted wife,  Anna;
17    his five children, Joseph, James , Mary Bates, John "JP", and
18    Nancy,  and  their  spouses,  Paula,  Mary, and Rose; his six
19    stepchildren, Rose,  Charles  Schwuchow,  Deborah  McFarland,
20    Patricia  Samuels, Michael Schwuchow, and Paul Schwuchow, and
21    their spouses, John, Sharon, Norm,  Kelly,  and  Stacey;  his
22    seventeen  grandchildren,  Jamie, John, Beth, Matthew, David,
23    Annie, Mark,  Jason,  Ryan,  Jenny,  April,  Christina,  Tim,
24    Kelly, Maggie, Katie, and Bryce; his six great-grandchildren,
25    and his many nieces and nephews; and

26        WHEREAS,  Joseph  R.  Cardone  will  be remembered by his
27    former students and colleagues  as  the  best  World  History
28    teacher and best coach in Marmion Military Academy's history;
29    therefore, be it

30        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
31    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along  with

 1    all  who  knew him, the death of Joseph R. Nardone; and be it
 2    further

 3        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
 4    presented to the family of Joseph R. Nardone.
