1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, NATO warplanes and missiles recently struck
3 Yugoslavia, pummeling army barracks, power plants, and air
4 defense batteries in an effort to force the country's defiant
5 leader to cease his onslaught against Kosovo's Albanians; and
6 WHEREAS, The military forces of the United States in
7 conjunction with their coalition allies have joined forces to
8 make these strikes against the Serbians; and
9 WHEREAS, We are in support of all of our fighting men and
10 women for the sacrifices they have made so that the Albanians
11 can obtain their freedom; and
12 WHEREAS, To these brave service men and women, who are
13 committed to fighting and perhaps dying for us, we owe the
14 preservation of our freedom; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIRST GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we support the war
17 effort in Kosovo and the NATO forces that are fighting there;
18 and be it further
19 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 delivered to the Secretary of Defense of the United States of
21 America.
