1 AMENDMENT TO SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 32
2 AMENDMENT NO. . Amend Senate Joint Resolution 32, AS
3 AMENDED, by replacing the last WHEREAS clause with the
4 following:
5 "WHEREAS, The long-term solvency of Social Security can
6 be ensured for future generations with measured and timely
7 adjustments to the program made by Congress; and
8 WHEREAS, The federal Medicare program provides health
9 care for the nation's citizens who qualify for Medicare
10 benefits; and
11 WHEREAS, Medicare benefits are the subject of reform
12 discussions in the United States Congress; and
13 WHEREAS, Participants in the federal Medicare program do
14 not currently enjoy full coverage for prescription
15 medication; therefore, be it"; and
16 immediately before the last RESOLVED clause, by inserting the
17 following:
18 "RESOLVED, That we urge the Congress of the United States
19 of America to provide full benefit coverage for prescription
20 medication under the federal Medicare program; and be it
21 further".
