 1        AN  ACT  to amend the Illinois Violence Prevention Act of
 2    1995 by changing Section 10.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.  The Illinois Violence Prevention Act of 1995
 6    is amended by changing Section 10 as follows:

 7        (20 ILCS 4027/10)
 8        Sec. 10.  Illinois Violence Prevention Authority.   There
 9    is  hereby created the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority
10    (hereafter "Authority") which shall be chaired jointly by the
11    Attorney General and the Director of Public Health and  shall
12    also   include:  the  Secretary  of  State  (or  his  or  her
13    designee); the Director of the Administrative Office  of  the
14    Illinois  Courts  (or  his or her designee); the Secretary of
15    Human Services (or his or her  designee)  plus  2  additional
16    representatives   of   the   Department   of  Human  Services
17    designated by the Secretary;  the director or designee of the
18    following departments of State government: the Department  of
19    State  Police,  the  Illinois  Criminal  Justice  Information
20    Authority,  the  Department  of Children and Family Services,
21    the Department on Aging, the State Board  of  Education,  and
22    the  Department  of Corrections; the chair or designee of the
23    Authority's Youth Advisory Board, who is entitled to vote  as
24    a member of the Authority if 16 years of age or older; and 10
25    public  members  representing  health,  criminal justice, and
26    civic associations or organizations working in  the  area  of
27    violence prevention, 5 each appointed by the Attorney General
28    and  the  Director of Public Health.  Appointed members serve
29    3-year terms and may be reappointed for an  unlimited  number
30    of terms.

 1        Section 99.  This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
