 1        AN  ACT  to  amend  the Illinois Vehicle Code by changing
 2    Section 12-815.1.

 3        Be it enacted by the People of  the  State  of  Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section  5.   The  Illinois  Vehicle  Code  is amended by
 6    changing Section 12-815.1 as follows:

 7        (625 ILCS 5/12-815.1)
 8        Sec. 12-815.1.  Emergency exits identification.   On  and
 9    after  August 1 June 1, 2000, all emergency exits of a school
10    bus shall be outlined around the perimeter of the exit with a
11    minimum one inch wide yellow reflective tape or decal.   This
12    yellow  reflective  tape  or  decal  shall  be  placed on the
13    exterior surface of the school bus.

15        Section 99.  Effective date.  This Act takes effect  upon
16    becoming law.
