 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 967

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill 967 on page  1  by
 3    deleting line 10; and

 4    on page 1, line 11, by changing "(2)" to "(1)"; and

 5    on  page  1  by  replacing  lines  13  through  18  with  the
 6    following:
 7             "(2)  four  members of the public appointed one each
 8        by the President of the Senate, the Speaker of the  House
 9        of  Representatives,  the  Minority Leader of the Senate,
10        and the Minority Leader of the House of  Representatives;
11        and"; and

12    on page 1, line 19, by changing "(5)" to "(3)"; and

13    on page 3, line 9, by deleting "(c)"; and

14    on  page  3  by  replacing  lines  14  through  27  with  the
15    following:
16        "(c)  The  Task  Force  shall  study methods for recycled
17    product promotion that create  demand  for  the  purchase  of
18    recycled content products by:
19             (1)  development    of    an   ongoing,   year-round
20        educational effort designed to promote  understanding  of
21        the  economic  desirability  of  the  purchase and use of

 1        recycled content products by  government,  business,  and
 2        individuals;
 3             (2)  promotion  of  the purchase and use of recycled
 4        content  products  by  State   and   local   governments,
 5        agencies,   and   authorities   through  procurement  and
 6        implementation  policies  and  practices   that   require
 7        outcome reports; and
 8             (3)  State   participation   in   interstate   joint
 9        purchasing  programs  in  a  manner that enables units of
10        local government to participate in those programs."; and

11    on page 3, line 28, by changing "20" to "15"; and

12    on  page  3  by  inserting  immediately  below  line  30  the
13    following:

14        "Section 90.  Repealer.  This Act is repealed January  1,
15    2001.".
