1 AN ACT to amend the Election Code by adding Section
2 9-25.5.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding
6 Section 9-25.5 as follows:
7 (10 ILCS 5/9-25.5 new)
8 Sec. 9-25.5. State employees; prohibited solicitations.
9 No person may obtain a full or partial list of State
10 employees from the office of the State Comptroller for the
11 purpose of soliciting contributions for a candidate from
12 those State employees.
13 A person who violates this Section is guilty of a Class C
14 misdemeanor and may be fined an amount equal to the amount of
15 the contributions solicited from the employees on the list.
16 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
17 becoming law.
