 1        AN ACT to amend the Property Tax Code by changing Section
 2    4-15.

 3        Be  it  enacted  by  the People of the State of Illinois,
 4    represented in the General Assembly:

 5        Section 5.  The Property Tax Code is amended by  changing
 6    Section 4-15 as follows:

 7        (35 ILCS 200/4-15)
 8        Sec.  4-15.   Compensation  of  local assessment officers
 9    holding other designations.   Any assessor,  deputy  assessor
10    or  member  of  a  board  of  review  who  has been awarded a
11    Certified   Assessment   Evaluator   certificate    by    the
12    International Association of Assessing Officers shall receive
13    an  additional  compensation  of  $500  per  year  from funds
14    appropriated to the Department.
15        Any assessor, deputy assessor or member  of  a  board  of
16    review   who   has  been  awarded  a  Residential  Evaluation
17    Specialist,   Assessment   Administration   Specialist,    or
18    Cadastral Mapping Specialist certificate by the International
19    Association  of  Assessing  Officers,  but  who  has not been
20    awarded a Certified Assessment Evaluator  certificate,  shall
21    receive  additional  compensation of $250 per year from funds
22    appropriated to  the  Department.  If  any  assessor,  deputy
23    assessor,  or  member  of  a board of review has been awarded
24    more than  one  certificate,  but  has  not  been  awarded  a
25    Certified   Assessment  Evaluator  certificate,  the  maximum
26    additional compensation shall be $250.
27        To continue to qualify for  the  additional  compensation
28    after receipt of a certificate, any assessor, deputy assessor
29    or  member  of  a  board  of  review  must,  each  year  that
30    additional  compensation  is  sought, complete successfully a
31    minimum of 15 class hours requiring  a  written  examination,

 1    and  the  equivalent  of one seminar course of 15 class hours
 2    which does not require a written examination.
