1 AN ACT to amend the Public Utilities Act by changing
2 Section 8-302.
3 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
4 represented in the General Assembly:
5 Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by
6 changing Section 8-302 as follows:
7 (220 ILCS 5/8-302) (from Ch. 111 2/3, par. 8-302)
8 Sec. 8-302. Reading of meters. The Commission shall
9 require that every public utility furnishing natural or
10 artificial gas, electricity, or water to the public, where
11 the individual consumption is measured by meter, shall, upon
12 written request of any consumer, cause the meter reader at
13 the time of reading the such consumer's meter to leave at the
14 such meter a card showing the present reading of the meter,
15 the last previous reading, and the dates of the such two
16 readings.

18 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
19 becoming law.
